| A light and airy coastal feel is achieved in this showpiece kitchen by the use of catalytic white cabinetry and highlighted by the use of a contrasting color for the Aga as well as handcrafted stained-glass door fronts. |

Background: Stephen and Deborah rationalized their high-end kitchen design services business in 2006/2007 and needed to produce a showpiece kitchen for interior design professionals to see and for publicity photography; as well as one which would function well in their daily lives. Their home is only an hour’s drive from New Orleans and the design required a “French Quarter” feeling combined with coastal look to reflect the feature back yard, swimming pool, and design of the house: a suburban French cottage style.
Special features:
The centerpiece of the kitchen design is an “Aga Companion” cooking range in aqua blue, aqua blue shutter doors on a pair of tall cabinets, and Avonite countertops – Debi wanted to move away from granite. Two pairs of artist-produced “one-of-a-kind” art-glass cabinet doors provide the final exquisite touches, while the kitchen is illuminated by means of downlighting as well as two distinctive French style pendant lamps over the peninsular counter.
